OUR PROJECTS

The TrustED project aims to make the management of digital identity and the sharing of personal data safer and more reliable. Data-driven innovation is already bringing significant benefits to citizens, transforming numerous sectors and improving daily life. For example, Artificial Intelligence could help identify the causes of certain diseases or facilitate access to social and educational services across Europe through the secure sharing of personal information.

However, there are significant risks, such as identity theft, data breaches, or misuse of information, which could hinder the spread of data-sharing systems. To address these challenges, the TrustED project will develop an advanced digital identity management system and a set of privacy protection technologies, ensuring security levels that exceed those required by European regulations, such as GDPR, eIDASv2, and the European Digital Identity Wallet (EUDI Wallet).

The project involves the development of a secure machine learning system that will allow for the analysis of distributed data across different organizations without compromising privacy, thanks to advanced protection tools. Additionally, an innovative service for digital identity management will be created, using Artificial Intelligence techniques to verify documents, biometric systems for secure recognition, and a method called Zero-Knowledge Proof (ZKP) to share only the necessary information without revealing sensitive data. This system will also allow for the digital certification of identities and the secure revocation of credentials.

These solutions will be tested in a pilot environment, developed following international standards to ensure maximum security and interoperability across different platforms.

Within the project, CyberSocial Lab. will play a central role in overseeing ethical, legal aspects and data management. It will also contribute to the protection of user privacy, leveraging its expertise in safeguarding digital rights and information security.
