Workshop at Roma Tre University

On Friday, July 4th, we held a workshop at Roma Tre University with students from the Interuniversity Master’s Program in Sociology, to reflect together on what it means to think about 6G from a social perspective. Emanuela Tangari and Luigi Briguglio facilitated an open conversation on key themes such as trust, access to information, digital inequalities, citizens’ rights, and the responsibilities that come with technological innovation.

At the heart of the session was a question as simple as it is essential: not only what 6G will be able to do, but what it should do, and for whom.

The discussion concluded with a collective proposal of fundamental values that, according to participants, should guide the development of future technologies: transparency, freedom, privacy protection, and human dignity.

It was a valuable moment of exchange, and just the beginning of a broader journey to bring social perspectives to the core of technology design.

We also presented the 6G4Society and SUSTAIN-6G projects, both aimed at bridging technical research with ethical and social reflection.
