Digital Identity, Privacy and Freedom
On 2 October at 11:00, CyberSocial Lab. will take part in RomHack, an event dedicated to cybersecurity and hacking, with the workshop “Prove It Without Telling Me Who You Are”, at Flaminio Village in Rome.
The workshop, featuring Carmela Occhipinti, Marco Pratesi and Emanuela Tangari, will focus on new approaches to digital identity management and, in particular, on the possibility of proving specific information without having to disclose one’s full identity.
Starting from the concept of self-sovereign identity, the session will explore tools such as verifiable credentials, selective disclosure, zero-knowledge proofs and cryptographic accumulators, showing how they can support data minimisation, unlinkability, and a more secure management of credential validity and revocation. It will also address risks related to correlation, metadata and the design of identity flows.
The use cases presented will also draw on activities carried out within the European project TRUSTED, providing an opportunity to reflect on the relationship between identity, privacy, security and freedom in the digital ecosystem. The use cases presented will also draw on activities carried out within the European project TRUSTED, providing an opportunity to reflect on the relationship between identity, privacy, security and freedom in the digital ecosystem.
